The Industrial Revolution began in Britain & spread throughout the world. It started in the 1800's-1900's. It began in Britain because all of its natural resources. A lot of factories were starting to pop up in Urban cities, more & more people began moving there for the jobs. Rural areas were mostly just for farming. But jobs in factories aren't all that. Any body could work in factories, then were children up to six years old working in factories in crappy working conditions. Accidents weren't that non-common in this factories especially textile industries. Industrialization is a production of goods being made by machines.
The idea of businesses being privately owned with little government interference was Adam Smith's & is called Capitalism or Free Enterprise & Karl Marx was the guy who helped create Communism, which is quiet different from capitalism. Communist believe the government should take control over everything, and then there's Socialism which kind of mixes both Capitalism & Communism. there is one more political idea called Anarchism, which where there is no government whats-so-ever, which was proven that it didn't work nor will it ever.
